USB UPDATER INSTRUCTIONS 5/22/2018

- Before beginning, make sure the supplied USB cable is connected directly to the PC/laptop, and not through a USB hub.

- Drivers for other flashing hardware MAY prevent the NAV-TV USB Updater from operating properly (especially DEI drivers for flashable updaters). Uninstall these drivers if everything else has been tried and the USB is still failing to connect or flash the NAV-TV module properly.

- Try another USB port if having issues.

1. If the PC being used has NEVER updated any NAV-TV product before, you must install the USB-UART drivers before connecting the module via the USB cable. In the software folder, AFTER UNZIPPING THE .ZIP FILE (work exclusively out of the unzipped folder from now on), open the 'Windows 7+ Driver files' folder (typical, if windows 7 OS or newer).

2. Inside 'Windows 7+ Driver files' folder, open 'CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe'. If this fails to open, open the _x86 version instead. Most newer computers will operate on x64. Run this program and wait until it is complete.

3. Once the driver has been installed, inside the (unzipped) sofware folder, right-click on the 'ZEN_M650Updater.exe' program, and choose 'run as administrator' (if avaiable - otherwise just open normally). The License Manager updater window will appear.

4. Connect the provided USB cable to the PC and to the module ONLY (do not leave harness connected to car - the flashing process will get its power over USB).

5. The field at 'USB Device' should change from 'Not connected' to a filename once connected (this field lists which software is currently loaded on that device). If the 'USB Device' field does not change, try these steps:

	a. Verify LED is ON or blinking when connected to USB
	b. Try a different USB port (if on front of PC, try rear of PC), then try again
	c. Verify you do not have 2 copies of the USB updater open at the same time
	d. Restart computer and try again
	e. If it has been some time since this writing, go to www.silabs.com, download the latest USB-UART driver and install it over the current one you just installed (type 'USB UART' into the search bar at the top of the site, it should be the first result and say something like 'USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers | Silicon Labs')

6. Once the file name in the 'USB Device' field shows the file name (COM# and a name), click on the button at the top right (with 3 dots). It will open another window, and you need to navigate to this same folder you unzipped ealier to choose the '.enc' flash file. NOTE: you cannot drag a file into the updater, you MUST open the file THROUGH the updater via the '3 dots' button.

7. Navigate to the location where the USB Updater and .enc file is located. Choose the file necessary and click 'Update'.

8. Once complete (should take less than 1 minute, without errors) listen for 'TADA' (if speakers are turned on) and look for 'Update Complete'

9. Disconnect the module from the USB and test for proper functionality.
